Silver Alert Success Story: 75-year old South Carolina man found in North Carolina
On September 18, 2010, a Silver Alert was issued for 75-year-old Richard Barron. Barron went missing in Sumter, South Carolina, and was found safe 170 miles away in Johnston County, North Carolina.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A missing South Carolina man was found safe in Johnston County Saturday afternoon.
Richard A. Barron, 75, of Sumter, S.C., became the subject of a Silver Alert in North Carolina after authorities tracked his cell phone to Raleigh and along Interstate 95 in Wilson.
Two North Carolina state troopers found Barron stranded along the side of I-95 in Johnston County. He had run out of gas trying to get home, troopers said.
