On November 13, 2010, a Silver Alert was issued for 86-year-old Edmund Ommundsen of Glen Rock, New Jersey. Ommundsen went missing in Washington Township, New Jersey, and was found safe 240 miles away in Andover, Connecticut.

From the news story in the Bergen County Record:

GLEN ROCK — An 86-year-old man missing since 6 p.m. Friday was found Saturday night almost 150 miles away by Connecticut State Police in Andover.

“He was confused and disoriented, but he was in the car,” said Glen Rock Detective Sgt. Eric Reamy. “He was missing for almost 30 hours. Everyone is relieved he’s been found.”

Edmund Ommundsen left his relative’s home in Washington Township driving a 1991 dark blue Honda Accord Wagon on Friday but never arrived at the home he shares with his wife on Prospect Street. His son reported him missing and Ommundsen, who suffers from diabetes, was immediately entered into a national database as a missing person.
