Silver Alert Success Story: 86-year old Oklahoma man found in Texas
On December 19, 2011, a Silver Alert was issued for 86-year-old Robert Herndon. Herndon went missing in Norman, Oklahoma, and was later found safe 275 miles away in Amarillo, Texas.

NORMAN, Oklahoma – A Norman man has been found safe in Texas, several hours after police issued a Silver Alert for him.
Robert Herndon went missing Monday afternoon when he left Norman to go to Tinker Air Force Base. Family members said they received a call from the 86-year-old man around 2:45 p.m. from the 4 Corners Gas Station in Crescent, Oklahoma, and gave him directions to Northwest Expressway in Oklahoma City.
Herndon was located in Amarillo, Texas, early Tuesday morning. Police said he is uninjured and safe. His family is headed to Amarillo to bring him back to Oklahoma.
