Alaska Launches Silver Alert Program
Alaska launched it’s Silver Alert program to find missing vulnerable adults. Silver Alerts will be posted online at http://silveralert.alaska.gov/
From the article in the Juneau Empire:
A “Silver Alert” will go out if a vulnerable adult in Alaska is missing and believed to be in serious danger, effective Thursday, said DPS spokeswoman Megan Peters. Peters said the “Alaska Silver Alert” system is similar to the Amber Alert system, which notifies the public of certain child abduction and kidnapping cases.
Many states already have Silver Alert programs in place. Gov. Sean Parnell signed legislation last year that required DPS to develop and implement notification plans to more quickly locate missing vulnerable adults.
