Silver Alert Success Story: 77-year old West Virginia Woman Found in Ohio

by silveralertbill

On March 12, 2016, a Silver Alert was issued for 77-year-old Sonja Carte. Carte went missing in Huntington, West Virginia, and was later found safe 40 miles away in Wheelersburg, Ohio.

From the news story at WSAZ-TV:

An elderly woman who went missing out of Huntington yesterday was found by police, her caretaker Donna Sites told WSAZ.

Sites said 77 year-old Sonja Carte was taken to the hospital for evaluation after officers found her in Wheelersburg, Ohio.

A neighbor told WSAZ Carte, or “Jackie,” has friends in Sandusky and was probably on her way to see them. She said Carte has taken off before but usually just down the road.

Sites said Carte’s suffers from dementia and probably got confused along the drive.
