Silver Alert Success Story: 80-Year-Old Mississippi Man Found in Alabama

On April 9, 2018, a Silver Alert was issued for 80-year-old James H. Riddle.  Riddle went missing in New Albany, Mississippi and was found safe 170 miles away in Snead, Alabama.

NEW ALBANY – The subject of a statewide Silver Alert has been located and is safe.

James H. Riddle, 80, of New Albany, disappeared around lunchtime Monday driving a gray Lincoln Town Car. He was located late Tuesday night about 170 miles away in Snead, Alabama.

NEW ALBANY – The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation issued a Silver Alert for an 80-year-old Union County man missing since lunchtime Monday.

James H. Riddle of New Albany is described as a black male, 6-feet, 1-inch tall, weighing 160 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen April 9 just before 1 p.m. in the 500 block of North Street in New Albany driving a gray Lincoln Town car bearing Mississippi license plate UND 308.

He was last seen wearing a red sweater, black pants and black slippers. Family members say Riddle suffers from a medical condition that may impair his judgement.

Silver Alert Success Story: 67-Year-Old Arkansas Woman Found in Mississippi

On May 8, 2014, a Silver Alert was issued for 67-year-old Mary Carolyn Waddell. Waddell went missing in Pocahontas, Arkansas and was later found safe 180 miles away in Clarksdale, Mississippi.

Pocahontas police say a missing woman has been found safe in Mississippi.

According to Pocahontas Police Chief Cecil Tackett, Mary Carolyn Waddell was found safe in Clarksdale, Mississippi on Wednesday.

Police said she was last spotted on surveillance video at a Tunica casino on Mother’s Day.

According to Arkansas State Police, Waddell, 67, has been missing since May 6. She was last seen at her home on Harmony Road in Pocahontas. A Silver Alert had been issued for her a couple of days later.

Silver Alert Success Story: 88-year old Mississippi man found in Kentucky

On May 12, 2014, a Silver Alert  was issued for 88-year-old Edward Crider. Crider went missing in Tupelo, Mississippi, and was later found safe in Kentucky.

From the news story at WJTV-12:

The Silver Alert for 88-Year Old Edward L. Crider of Tupelo has been canceled. He was found in Kentucky safe and uninjured.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol has issued a Silver Alert for 88-Year Old Edward L. Crider of Tupelo.

The Tupelo Police Department is handling the search. Crider is described as a white male, with silver hair and brown eyes. He’s 6’2 tall and weighs 210 pounds.
