TULSA, Okla. (KTUL) – The Nowata County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Silver Alert for 89-year-old Wesley Collins.
He was last seen around 11 a.m. on Thursday.
The inaugural Silver Alert issued by the Utah Department of Public Safety ended in the safe return of a missing senior after a journey of 1600 miles.
On June 11, 2019, a Silver Alert was issued for 80-year-old Robert Jones. Jones went missing in Orem, Utah and was found safe in Wilder, Idaho, after a 1600-mile journey through Idaho, Oregon and Nevada.
According to ABC 4 in Salt Lake City, Jones drove from Orem to Pendleton, Oregon, then Stanfield, Oregon, then retracing his route to Mountain Home, Idaho before heading south to Winnemucca, Nevada. Jones was finally located in Wilder, Idaho three hours after the Silver Alert was issued.
On June 7, 2019, a Silver Alert was issued for 85-year-old Jaxie Rogers. Rogers went missing in Latta, South Carolina, and was safe 40 miles away along the Lumber River in Columbus County, North Carolina.

Deputies have found the 85-year-old missing Latta woman, Jaxie Rogers.
She was found in Columbus County, North Carolina, according to Captain Cliff Arnette with the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.
The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday afternoon said utility workers were in the area of the 11000 block of Old Highway 74, next to the Lumber River, when they found Rogers’ car abandoned. They called in local authorities, who confirmed the vehicle belonged to Rogers.
